The City of Arkadelphia will host a Community Energy Workshop on April 24, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center, 2555 Twin Rivers Drive, to provide residents with baseline information on their home energy usage as well as tips to lower utilities.
Staff from the University of Arkansas's Applied Sustainability Center will present a brief energy workshop and assist residents in calculating overall energy usage and share short- and long-term methods to reduce usage. Residents should bring a copy of their most recent electric or gas bill, and volunteers will be on hand to help complete worksheets to calculate energy consumption. Calculators and pens will be available for use, and sample utility bills will be available for those who forget.
Participants are eligible to receive a $300 gift certificate from Hardman Lumber Company from the door prize drawing, and refreshments will be provided. The event is co-sponsored by the South Central Arkansas Electric Cooperative. For more information, please call Deborah at 870-246-9864.
